Andrew Mwesigwa, eða Siggi eins og hann var kallaður hér í Eyjum hefur gert samning við kínverska liðið Chongqing Lifan FC.  Andy spilaði í fjögur ár með ÍBV og lék 67 leiki fyrir félagið. Hann hefur skrifað félaginu bréf sem hann óskar eftir að sé birt hér á vefnum. Hægt er að sjá það með því að smella á meira.

I Mwesigwa Andrew former player of ÍBV football club, here by send a word of thanks to all the board members, the coaching staff, players, sponsors, fans and all the people of Vestmannaeyjar island for the love they have showed me in the 4 years i have spent in the club. I have had a very good and memorable time while on the island ,made lots of unforgetable friends who have always been behind me in every situation on and off the pitch. I can’t mention all of them because if i start to mention, i will write a full book .

I would love to say to every Icelander that Iceland is and will remain my second home in life because it was my first country to live in outside my home country Uganda and african as a continent and i don’t regret the day i first boarded the plane while coming to Iceland in 2006 because i have had good time on my stay in the 4 years i have been here. Regards from my family (Doreen my wife and our beloved daughter princess Cindy) ,they have loved the time they have been here and thank whoever in the club made it possible for them to come to Iceland, my daugher met friends here like pista ,krettar"s wife ,brynja, and have been really good   friends  to her and she has  said may the Good Lord bless u mighty for the love u have showed her in her 6 months stay in Vestmannaeyjar.

Am sending a word of thanks to all the players that i have been with for 4 seasons for the co-operation they have given me ,and i would like to say am proud to have played along side a friendly and loving squad of ÍBV football club especialy Matt Garner,Pétur,Yngvi,Runni and Albert.,I personally would like to say i have learnt a lot from the old players and i think they have also learnt something from me. I would like to say that IBV has a very good future in the youth boys that have really showed talent especialy boys like Eidur  and Toti, am not being descriminative but for sure they have been exceptional in the youth boys and my word to them is that my young brothers  should continue  working very hard as they have been doing and the sky will be the limit for them in their careers and i hope one day they will play for the national team as i also started playing for my national team at a tendar age. And i would like to thank the coaching staff that has made a very good job to prepare us and made a succesfull season though we did not win the league but staying up was an achievement for a youth team we had that had just come from first division.

It is really very unfortunate for me  not to have won a lot of medles with the team except the one we won last year when we were 1st division champions because when i was coming i thought we could at one day win the Icelandic championship and others and may be go for uefa, but u can never force anything like results to happen when it is not to happen but all in all it has been a very good experience for me and am praying that the team may continue doing well as we have been progressing since 2007 up to now when i have left. The good thing to add to this is that am happy that Iceland  football has become very supportive to Ugandan football ,and now both football federation KSI (iceland) and FUFA (uganda) have been co-operative in the exchange of players due to the fact that we had reached a number of 3 Ugandan player in the Icelandic league which is a very good guesture of football fratenity of the 2 countries ,so i also thank the Icelandic  football federation and the government .

On my stay i have met spiritual families that have been more of  my relatives here in iceland and i can’t forget them ( Mammy Arny and Daddy OLI),(Simmi and Uni from Viking tour) ,i don’t know what i can say to show my appreciation to them ,but as a christian i would love to say that the heavenly father may reward them by blowing many candles as the stars appear in the sky not to forget Gisli hjaltasson and Bibbi's family.I would like to apologise to whoever i have not mentioned in this letter but u have to know that i love and appreciate everybody i met in Iceland ,and i could not write all the names ,but God knows my heart and knows that am very pleased with every one in this place.

Lastly but more important is that i would love to thanks all the christians from my church (pentecostal church of christ) in vestmannaeyjar that have been giving me a spiritual bread of life (word of God), that is the pastors and the all the church members Hogni himillson, oskar, oli, dadi, siver,  and the others church elders i could not mention , may God bless them and the church at large.

Am gonna miss u people and everything on the island and iceland at large  but am very sure that at one time in  life time i will come back and visit this place and meet my beloved people one again.

Thanks very much ,we love u all and may God bless Vestmannaeyjar and all the people in iceland.bye ,bye to all.

Yours in sports

Mwesigwa Andrew.
